Fasten Your SeatbeltsYou are working as crew in the economy cabin on a flight from Dubai to New York. Midway through the flight, the captain turns on the seatbelt sign due to unexpected turbulence. The turbulence is mild, so you are permitted to continue working, but all passengers must remain seated with their seatbelts fastened.
As a group, review each passenger and agree on how you will manage each situation and the order of priority. You must all agree and are not allowed to vote:
- An unaccompanied minor starts crying as they are scared about the turbulence.
- An elderly passenger is standing in the aisle and is waiting to use the restroom.
- A pregnant passenger is uncomfortable in her seat and asks for your help to unfasten her seatbelt.
- A passenger spilled a drink on themselves and has come to the galley and asked for tissues to clean it up.
- A demanding passenger has pressed the call bell several times requesting for a hot tea and is questioning the delay in the service.
- A teenager tells you he suffers from motion sickness and does not feel well.
- A mother holding her infant is trying to calm her down and has asked you for the baby bassinet.
Polaroid Memories: The Last ClickBoarding has just finished on flight EK210 from Athens to Dubai. As part of your pre-flight duties, you are taking polaroid pictures of passengers to enhance their experience. Each photo will be placed in a special card frame with a personalised message from the crew, so they are a very popular keepsake. Unfortunately, there is just one film left, and eight passengers have requested to have their photo taken.
As a group, review each passenger and decide which passenger will have their photo taken and how you will manage other passengers. You must all agree and are not allowed to vote:
- Parents travelling with a young child who are hoping to capture their child’s first flight.
- Couple celebrating their anniversary, they have asked for a photo to commemorate the special occasion.
- A frequent flyer who is on their 100th flight and would like a photo to celebrate.
- Solo traveller has asked for a photo for their scrapbook to mark the journey.
- Influencer with a large social media following, who wants to post the polaroid picture to their followers.
- First-time Business Class traveller who wants to take a picture to remember the moment.
- A passenger celebrating their birthday who wants a photo as a special keepsake.
- Unaccompanied minor, who wants a photo to show to their parents upon arrival.
